Black Hole Formation

When a stellar core exceeds ~3 M☉ (TOV limit), not even neutron degeneracy can halt collapse. Matter falls inward, forming a singularity surrounded by an event horizon.

Pre-Collapse
Schwarzschild radius: 0 km

Core Mass

1 M☉ Chandrasekhar (1.4) TOV (~3) 5 M☉
Core Mass:1.5 M☉
Radius:20 km
Escape Velocity:0.5c
Time Dilation:1.2×
Gravitational Redshift:z = 0.4
Schwarzschild Radius: rs = 2GM/c² ≈ 3 km × (M/M☉)

At r = rs, escape velocity equals the speed of light. Nothing, not even light, can escape from within this boundary.
