Based on Tero et al.'s model: the plasmodium is an array of tubes. Flow through each tube follows Poiseuille's law (Q = D/L * dp). Tubes carrying more flow thicken (positive feedback); unused tubes decay. This simple mechanism produces near-optimal transport networks, routing around obstacles. The model has been applied to road network design and circuit layout.
